I've finished this game and it had a lot towards it for $30. It was one of the best games i've bought through 2016-2017. The puzzles were amazing fun to solve. The combat system was awesome but could be more stable when it comes to bosses. The game offered an amazing story which wasn't complete. There is really only one down fall to this game. If you don't complete any of the last side quest you've picked up or contracts after beating the game you can't go back to finish them without a few saving problems. Once the final boss is completed you are forced back to the main menu. Once there you may load your save again but... It takes your right back before you fight the boss. So i suggest doing everything first. If you're unsure of when to do everything then do it in fragement 2 or 3. The game finishes at 3. I'm sorry to spoil somethings but its best you know so you aren't disappointed like i was. Besides that the game was worth it.

NOTE TO NEW PLAYER
For whatever reason the devs decided 0% audio volume default settings was the 'right choice,' and stuck with it. You will find these settings in 'parameters.'
I've given this another go, since I got it for $2. My first go was probably the same reaction as many others having watched muted intro videos which shift to muted gameplay. This "feature" I can imagine caused the middling rating.

Combat bugs
Just thought I'd be helpful and point out three combat bugs I've been made aware of.
Bug 1 (very helpful): Once you KO an opponent, you can still attack their body for a second-ish before the next fighter enters the arena, netting you extra Tension. Abuse this, as it means more parries, and more hypers!
Bug 2 (annoying): Every time you cast a spell, three things update in this order: 1. Cooldown refreshes 2. Shi cost is spent 3. Spell activates. If you're interrupted before 3., you could pay dearly - get out of multihit spells, or otherwise make sure you're not about to get hit before casting.
Bug three: A very rare bug, but game-breaking nonetheless. When an enemy starts combat with you, you'll still be in exploration mode and thus unable to fight the enemy. It may seem funny at first, but I warn you to be careful and navigate to a save point immdeiately, as the next mob to fight you could trap you in an arena, with no way to escape other than quitting and losing progress.

So far so good!
Still early into the game but so far it's a solid RPG! Character animations, battle sequences, background music, game camera & controls are what any fan of action-rpg's would come to expect from a triple "A" title. Not sure how how deep the story will go but with a fun take on battles, I hope to spend many hours leveling up my team. Might be a hidden jewel for action-rpg fans!
