Magical Delicacy

I think I came into this game with the wrong expectations. I thought the gameplay loop was going to be similar to games like 'Little Witch in the Woods" or "Potion Permit" with maybe a similar shop system to "Moonlighter", it has none of those similarities. The tutorial ends very quickly which isn't bad but the player is dropped in their shop and left to their own devices. You'll pick up request for food items with a specific quality rather than just telling the player what to make, which would be fine if you started with enough recipes to cover the basic matching game. The map feels like a chore to navigate and the beginning map is very, very useless when it comes to finding NPC's. Gathering material seems to be wholly rng as you have to gather the few you find in town, the rest you buy which feel inefficient since quest rewards are pretty lackluster. I'll play for awhile more but everything feels loose and unfinished.

I was liking the game at first but its such a hassle to find ingredients in the beginning like fruit. you can only time skip at night so if youre up at 6am that sucks. I cant buy other ingredients from other places I just have to wait for it to grow for two days. Time pacing is good i just wish certain ingredients were at least available to buy.

This game obviously apeals to a certain demographic. It's clearly not a complex RPG single player story mode that will challenge both your gaming skills, moral resolve, and problem solving skills. It is a simple game with some metroidvania elements, centered around cooking. If you don't like it, pick a different game. Don't criticize and condemn game pass while simultaneously using it. You sound like a spoiled brat complaining that your girlfriend doesn't make your sandwich the way your mother used to.

There isn't any full blown guides for this game yet, so it's gonna require some patience getting the hang of the cooking and selling systems. Outside the gooners in the reviews, the game is beautiful and it reminds me what it was like finding out new things as you go before the internet was around to just tell you what to do next from a google search. No microtransactions, just adventure. Def worth a play tbh

This definitely isn't for everyone, and that's okay, just be mature about it, and don't play it... pretty simple. I'm a 25 y/o guy, this definitely isn'tmy normal type of game either, but I'm absolutely enjoying this game a lot currently. It's cozy, simple, and scratches a few itches for me. If you enjoy cozy, relaxing games, with economic system, like Stardew and others, I feel you will enjoy this. Don't let the immature iPad kids stop you from at least trying it out.
