Morbid: The Lords of Ire
Merge Games · Action & adventure · Role playing · Fighting
From the creators of Morbid: The Seven Acolytes... experience a blood-soaked action adventure with souls-like elements. Face vile monsters and wade through oceans of gore as you battle to defeat the Lords of Ire in a grim world of pain & suffering.
This is one of the better souls-like games if you're a fan of Bloodborne's combat mixed with Sekiro. There are 3 types of Blocking, one is your normal hold LB to negate all damage at the cost of stamina. Second is tapping LB the moment an attack lands to deplete the enemy's posture slowly, whereas the third block is a RIPOSTE which happens if you hold LB and attack at the same time an enemy hit lands, causing you to straight up rip their guts out. That visceral feeling of combat, combined with the fact that you have a Pistol that can also parry enemies is straight up from Bloodborne which I love so much. The level design and enemy variety isn't anything extraordinary, but for a $30 title it is pretty solid. The bosses are not easy, however they do not have any crazy AOE spam attacks so if you're any good at souls-games then you won't have much trouble with them. All in all, a great game to play if you love Fromsoft Titles. 👌

A Very Decent Soulslike
It's fun. Combat is simple, you can and should parry. The addition of runes on your weapons, then leveling said weapons gives you a needed edge in battle. Exploring could use some work. Enemies need more variety. Leveling is a little excessive. Morbid is a promising start. The next, (or third game?), should be perfect as long as they build onto whats already there. I'd buy this to support the developers.

Solid indie soulslike
The first game was a 2D isometric soulslike. It's direct sequel, this game, makes the jump to fully 3D. Overall the game is pretty fun, for an indie team, who I think this is there first time making a 3D game. I feel they did a good job. The controls may feel and look clunky at some time. But overall it's actually pretty fluid. The world is well fleshed out and interesting. Overall I liked it. And hope to see another game from them in the future.

Sadly Undercooked
This is not bad, and if you've never played soulslike games before, it's not a bad starting point. The games graphics and level design is good, with some pretty interesting characters to interact with. For me, the low rating comes from the gameplay. The combat feels underwhelming, with there not being many different attacks and kinda sloppy animation for critical strikes. The character leveling felt slow and a little boring and the weapon leveling system (while cool) falls flat midway through the game. The enemy balencing also felt off, jumping between too easy to frustratingly hard, with the bosses also only having a few moves that become easy to deal with. There's no hate towards this game, I played it all the way to the end. I just feel like the concept and ideas were there, but the game came out unable to reach its full potential.
