OCTOPATH TRAVELER

This is not only one of the best RPGs I've played, it's one of the best games. The music is top tier. The story is more quality over quantity, utilizing small bits of story for each character but those bits are unique and at times very mature in nature. Each character feels like the main protagonist of their own RPG and forming them into a party is really cool. Combat is simple with a touch of complexity that allows for some interesting situations and stategies, especially with multi-class capabilities. If you're a fan of old school FF then this will entertain you plenty. I love this game.

Was turned off by the pixel graphics at first, but this game was on my radar for months. Tried it and was instantly hooked. Absolutely fantastic game!

Love this game! Music and characterization are on point! Finish all 8 arcs so you can see the overarching story and true enemy.

I would give this a go if you like old school rpg type games. Plenty of character growth and the ability to build a great party. Just give it a go, if it's not your style then that's fine, but I find it enjoyable and haven't been able to put it down since I got started.

Very powerful soundtrack by Yasunori Nishiki, turn up your sound system. The graphics make the backgrounds and spellcasting totally awesome looking, and the sound effects are addicting. Loved the voice casting in Japanese language sounds so cool, very much talent there as well. A very beautiful JRPG with a Final Fantasy, Saga-esque feel to it. I didn't decide 5 stars because the first part of the game was a bit repetitive in feel, as it manages several stories with connecting parts. The second part of the game was much more enjoyable. I wished the dungeons were more complicated and surroundings were more interactive. You have to use Theron ALL the time if you don't feel like backtracking to locked chests. Stealing in the game should have worked differently in my opinion. I also wished the shield functioned more than just stat addition. (There's no actual shield blocking percent chance, only evasion as a general "miss".) Great game, try this one if you like JRPGs.
