SINNER: Sacrifice for Redemption
Another Indie · Action & adventure · Fighting · Role playing
Sinner: Sacrifice for Redemption is a boss battler action-RPG. Face eight abhorrent bosses, the first seven each based on one of the deadly sins. Before each epic clash, you must sacrifice a stat and level down to enter combat. Each fight will be tougher than the last as you wage war against sin itself.
Controls are a bit delayed with response
2nd Boss is really annoying
Wish you could move faster while locked on
Other than that a good game if your knew to darksouls

A nice change of pace for me.
Be patient and learn the bosses' patterns. I beat this game over the course of a couple days, and while I did get frustrated at times, I powered through and stayed focused. If you look at the boss, you can tell what's coming, they even have audio cues. It is pretty difficult but keeping a level head helped me really enjoy this game.

Fixable Flaws
At this point the gameplay is a little too repetitive due to most bosses repeating the same exact move over and over. Feels a bit short because of how simple some bosses are. Status effects could go down quicker and certainly shouldnt do so much damage so quickly. Aside from those very fixable issues it's a pretty solid game. Would give it 3.8 if I could.

Redemption is just within reach
I went into Sinner with no understanding of the game beyond the initial launch trailer. What I left with was an enjoyable, though fundamentally flawed and challenging experience. As a nameless warrior you set out to redeem a set of entities that embody each major sin, to some undisclosed purpose. You choose the order to fight each sin, but must sacrifice something each time. This ranges from losing a portion of health, to having your ability to block become handicapped. This opens up a little strategy in which bosses you fight ala reverse Mega Man, where you lose abilities rather than gain them. Combat is methodical and requires observation, patience, and diligence. There were times where thre A.I. broke its own rules i.e.( not registering a Critical Attack after a successful parry, being interrupted attack despite the enemy staggering, button presses not responding accurately). If you have Game Pass I recommend a try. Otherwise, wait for a good sale and check some videos before hand.

Good game for what it is.
Too many rate this game based on what its not(Dark Souls) and not what it is, a boss battler. Unique concept of sacrificing part of yourself to challenge each boss leads to hard decisions on what you can live without. Controls are not bad but i wish i could have more options in changing them.
