Spiritfarer is a cozy management game about dying. As ferrymaster to the deceased, build a boat to explore the world, care for your spirit friends, and guide them across mystical seas to finally release them into the afterlife.
This was the last game that my combat vet friend played
He had ptsd from things he had to do in the Middle East. He went to the VA & they just gave him crazy meds & told him to go home. The last achievement he got on xbox was on this game... "at least someone is happy". I miss you, man.

It helped
I played this right after I lost my mother in 2020. It really helped me cope and come to terms with her passing. Thank you.

My lil sister loved this game. She passed last year at 21. Cant bring myself to play it. But the joy, and the acceptance of death i know the game brought her I hold dear. Thank you.

I spent 65 hours getting to 100% and didn't want it to end.

A beautiful, bittersweet ride.
This is the first game I've ever played where I didn't want to complete the objectives. Not because it wasn't fun, it was, not because I didn't want to help the characters, I did, not because I didn't care what happened next, I was curious.
It's because once you've helped someone, learned their wants and dislikes, made their food, built their house, listened to their stories... Once you've done everything for them, they leave.
You are the Spiritfarer. Your job is to take souls to the hereafter. Even knowing how it has to end, the parting is always bittersweet.
The game is beautiful, chill, cute, poignant, and relaxing. One part of your job is constructing a little villaige to manage resources, the other is knowing when to give people hugs.
You can pet your cat when you crouch. There is no other function for crouching.
10/10 would hug more cats.
