Tainted Grail: The Fall of Avalon - Excalibur Edition

I'm old enough that most games feel bland and boring now. It's rare that a game grabs my attention anymore... This is that game. It plays and loots like Skyrim. On mid difficulty, the combat is solid. You have to actually care. It's not like elden ring or souls, but imagine the first time you got hit in the face. The game is beautiful, love the voice acting. I'm telling my friends about this game and now I'm going out of my way to tell you.

A pleasant surprise for RPG gamers! This game is best compared with the Sky-Blivion style with hints of Zelda mixed in. 3rd person works great for exploring Update - The recent updates have made drastic strides visually and better performance @ 60fps+ If you're not playing this game, you 🫵 are missing out on a great rpg experience! @Awaken Realms, if you happen to read this, may I suggest adding sheathed weapons animation to 3rd person perspective? I know it's a 1st person game at it's core but adding a sheathed sword and shield, or a bow along with arrows that do appear when equipped, helps with immersion. Otherwise I'm highly enjoying this game, soundtrack is epic as well Update 1.20 deleted all of my saved progress...😣😒 Edit: 03/20/2026, Newest update restored my previously deleted saves, we're back!!! 👀 👀 👄 👅

I was a day-one supporter of this game and I was absolutely ecstatic that it was coming to Xbox. I really enjoyed my first playthrough, but I can’t recommend this game 1 year later. While content has been added and expanded upon, Awaken Realms’ and Questline’s artists seem more and more content to cheapen their work with Gen-AI. To make it worse, the performance is now absolutely terrible. Endless stuttering and frame drops <30fps when roaming. Nearly unplayable in cities. Avoid.

This is exactly what you think of when you think about what would happen if elden ring and Skyrim had a baby. Theres also a slight suspicion one of them cheated with the witcher, but no DNA tests were performed so the witcher-like features might actually just be a coincidence. Give it a shot.

Greatly improves performance and gets rid of that horrible camera drag that gives motion sickness
