Fun but controls..
Allow us to remap the controller please, double jump tied to glide doesn't work well. Fail to open or it insta closes the shield often. Still a good cute story and atmosphere regardless.

Fun character designs within an equally fun world. The shield makes for a really fun mechanic, i was sold the moment i learned i could shieldsurf

A bit clunky at first, but it quickly grew on me!
Initially, I struggled with the camera controls, but once I turned the sensitivity down to 5%, it got much better. I played for the entire 2-hour demo and the storyline pulled me perpetually forward, trying to find out what happened to the poor knghtless knightling next! I'm not a fan of the mumble-speech mixed with some English dialog... I would prefer one or the other. A really fun indie game! I, personally, wouldn't pay $30 or even $24 for it, but it's definitely going on my wishlist in case I can pick it up for around 10 bucks in the future! TL:DR, try the demo and wait for a decent sale.

Janky controls
Movement is choppy and the camera pulls making this game (which has precision platforming) annoying for some sections to play. Camera pulling is even worse in enclosed sections making what would be a simple hop into a two minute fight to not have the camera keep flipping it's angle to under you.

Just like the good ol' days
Feels like a classic from the PS2 days, for better and for worse. Traversal is a blast, between surfing on your shield and gliding through the air, mastering movement is very rewarding. Combat is mid. You have a reasonably robust set of tools, but most of them either aren't rewarding enough when you compare it to just blocking to build super bar and nuking everything, or just aren't functional enough to bother with. Music is overall very pleasant and fitting. Lots of jank. Shield throw feels awful which is a huge shame since the animation in general is so fun and expressive, but the lock-on barely works and the frustration is compounded with it being the only way to incapacitate what is already the most annoying enemy in the game, who also happens to be unkillable for seemingly no reason. The story isn't anything too deep but the writing and scenarios were usually pretty funny and always charming. Definite mixed bag but overall positive experience. If there was a sequel I would play it
