Windbound

The roll dodge is essentially the only viable early game tactic which is fine, if I didn't have to also fight the camera. It feels the the follow cam has poor depth perception, leading to many missed timed attacks and parrys. The game is not only exceptionaly beautiful, but the world is very convencing which scratches that exploration itch. I get that food is supposed to be scarce, however the constant need and lack of easily available food sources (even on adventure) takes away from the overal experience. Again the second iusse is complicated by the janky combat camera as the early game heavily revolves around feeding yourself. (could be solved by adding in more vegitation or increasing respawn rates on existing ones, or alternatively increase dropped amounts, just thoughts.)

I've had this one for a few years now and love it. It's great for a chill playthrough, when you just want to cruise around sailing and hunting. The game design is beautiful, the creatures are cute, and the crafting has enough variety to keep it fun rather than a chore. The story is a little better now since the updates, but admittedly if you're looking for an elaborate storyline or complicated puzzles, look elsewhere. Fighting enemies could also use a patch, as a lot of times they get stuck, and most can be avoided by standing on a rock or hip deep in the water. But if you're looking for a few hours of fun and a map that changes every playthrough, this is your game.

It even has wind in the title. The game looks like windwaker, especially when boating. I loved exploring the open seas of windwaker as a kid. This brings me back.

All this survival stuff going on with oceans and islands, yet no fishing pole, no coconuts, and meat drops from some but not all animals. NEEDS. - Bigger inventorys, more food options, faster and all resource respawning, the grass, the bamboo, and all plant resources need to regrow not just the berries, and speed that process up a bit. End Note - Its playable barely, until you find out its too much of a grind just to get food, keep your health up, and juggle the huge lack of inventory space. Then it just gets boring and irritating.

I would love to give this game 5 stars, because it has a great concept and there are things I like about it, but it is unnecessarily difficult. Starting the whole chapter over when going up against the boss and dying is absolutely insane. If this game has never raised your blood pressure then god bless you
