Xenon Racer

For a ridge racer type arcade game this is waaaaaaay too hard. I'm 44 years old and I'll admit my skills aren't what they used to be. But come on. When I'm playing on normal and still finishing dead last by a long shot there is something wrong. Please make this more playable for those of us who aren't professional race car drivers. This is supposed to be an arcade racer after all. On the plus side the game looks and performs well. And i really like the music. I just hope i can enjoy playing it some day. Edit. After playing more i notice one thing. Either the ai cars pass you and you don't stand a chance of catching up, or you completely run away from them. I'm sure difficulty is hard to balance in a racing game, but it needs to be better than this. I'm not trying to hate on this game, because as a huge ridge racer fan i really want to like it. I just want to see it get better. I do like the drifting in the game. It's pretty solid. Maybe just a little fine tuning. And the cars are cool.

Listen to the reviews and save your money. The game is completely ruined by rubberbanding AI and your car's inability to corner well. It's a total shame too because there's a good racing game here, but the flaws are too critical to ignore.

The only thing worse than this game's selection of performance-altering parts is how the cars in this game turn, which is like steering a 200,000 ton aircraft carrier: I hate how this game forces you to either drift like it's Initial D or faceplant into the wall BECAUSE YOU CAN'T TURN. They better fix that steering issue soon, because I can't play this at all without pinballing all over the track. P.S.: I'm sick of these ********** cash grabs. If you want to make a fortune, make a true effort to pleasing the consumers.

The AI is OP, race requirements are absurd. Graphics/framerate are not great (playing on Xbox One X). Handling is inconsistent, what works in a turn varies not only from turn to turn, but also lap to lap. Game needs balancing and polish, even at the $50 pricepoint. Challenge is one thing but this is just frustrating. If I wanted to be punished I'd play Dirt Rally.

The handling is very unresponsive and inconsistent, especially for a game described by the developers as an arcade racer. What works to start a drift on one turn will not work on the next similar turn and speed. The AI is overly difficult even on the lowest difficulty setting. The conditions to win many of the early events are much too high, especially considering the AI and handling issues. The framerate on most tracks is noticeably inconsistent even running on xbox one x.
