Ashen: Definitive Edition

This is Dark Souls Light, but thats not a bad thing. I have enjoyed what I've played so far and here is how it feels like Dark Souls: - Lock on enemies - Well hidden enemies with surprise ambushes - Losing of currency upon death - Retrieve currency at location of death - Items swapped via D-Pad - Vitality swig and refill from stones (think bonfires) - Can't pause the game - Enemies can deal a lot of damage fast - Can set password for specific player to join It is not like Dark Souls in the sense that: - The world is brighter and more colorful - Multiplayer is based on random encounters, not by summoning So far, I have fought a boss with a random person and we came victorious. The story is intriguing and expands in an interesting way. Don't ignore side quests, as these unlock unique abilities, like fast travel or crafting. Random players look like NPC companions, depending on quest. To communicate with other players, press up on D-PAD. You'll be notified that someone is calling.

Once you learn controls, block, dodge, and roll combat is like Dark Souls the caves, tombs, offer challenging enemies, creatures to battle, you have npc that you group up with which helps when you get jumped by enemies which attack in groups , the enemy AI is good. There are a variety of weapons and armor as you unlock areas, reclaim a village that gets rebuilt, the main story is interesting, with side quests to do. I have only played the solo game so not sure how co-op gameplay is. It's a fun unique looking action RPG that's hard to stop playing once you start exploring, and discovering all the depth this game has, like any good RPG game it hooks you and never lets you go. The game has a huge open world with many interesting new areas to unlock, and discover, and it's a great addition to Game Pass, and XB1. I'm enjoying the game more then I thought I would with it's simple graphic style, the combat is really fun and challenging the spear throwing is on point which is always good.

For multiplayer to work first turn off AI companion(in settings in game) so that the companions you run into are other players. If you have a friend you can both play together as long as you both set same code and put multiplayer filter on(in settings in game). To see each other you would just have to be near in the same area. Review - 10/10 one of the best open world rpg's out there. The exploration is undeniably fun, there are a variety of enemies which makes for awesome strategic fights, The boss fights are dope, The story is actually better than i thought and comes with a twist, THE MUSIC IS JUST AMAZING, and although the frustration is real since it does follows dark souls the game is still worth playing. Would love to see a DLC in the future!

Great game love so far just wish it was easier to play with friends.
