Blaster Master Zero

Rented and played as child, been a fav since it renting the Nintendo cartidge 30ish years ago...every level faithfully remade and evry one has tons of extra new surprises.music changing up after first level was not cool but is only thing that damages the otherwise perfection of this triumphant homage to one of the best games of all times, idid notice during research that part 2 doesn't reproduce the second blaster master that was released on sega genesis, which tho im sure il love as well is def a bummer it wont get the same treatment but kudos to Sunsoft if only all remakes of 8 bit classics could be as awesome as this!

Always wanted to find more games from blaster master. And never could really wish we got a second and third on the nes first one got me hooked no real story but the game play was way ahead of the times

If you don't already know what classic Blaster Master is, it's a mixture of a platformer, a 3/4 perspective shooter with a small dash of Metroidvania. Wildly successful, the sequel and spinoffs left the series for dead in the early 2000's. This game absolutely captures the spirit of the orignal. It has great retro graphics and a good(yet often too repetitive) chiptune soundtrack. My main problems with the game lie in 2 minor things. Your character gets almost no I-frames on hit so getting caught in the wrong position means nearly instantanious death. Second is the standard game is a pushover. You will run through the game in 6-8 hours. To get 1000 GS you need to beat hard mode, unlocked after beating regular mode. The mode will test your mettle and it created for one of the most punishing retro games I have played in ages. For reference it took me 6.5 hours to beat easy, 13 hours to beat hard mode. I really liked this one but if you want that 1000GS you are going to have to earn it

I remember having the original Blaster Master on Nes and playing all the other Blaster Master that came out years after but if you remember the original think back to where it was no internet no cheats no map system and no saving leaving the NES on was your only way of saving a game and coming back to it Blaster Master was ahead of its time from the quality of graphics sound and innovation on how Sophia the 3rd moves so freely its a unique game that gets over looked a lot and i know the Zero series is over but i hope Blaster Master continues to live on because believe it or not this game has a huge fan base behind it and im one of them 5/5 ✨✨✨✨✨ 10/10 💚💚💚💚💚💚💚💚💚💚

Never played the o.g. game but this a good game worth playing. Very short, only 8 areas and not really that challenging but its good for what it is.
