Dark Quest 3

Hints&Help: Always prioritize free/passive actions when upgrading. Avoid battles that dont give benefits. You can damage ur own allies so b careful. Dont use rerolls on trap prevention, use them on changing trap outcomes. Cant target characters with invisibilty until they take an action. Each areas deck is around 20+cards. Blue Crystals carry over to your next run. Use all free actions before primaries. To developers: Needs map rotation buttons. Out of combat status indicators showing turns remaining on effects. Number of cards in deck indicator. Better in-combat selected hero displays/icons. Bolden keywords in cards for easier recognition/synergies. Very fun game, just needs QoL improvements to be more "casuals" friendly. Very "trial & error" gameplay as is, but what roguelike isnt? Not text heavy AT ALL. Its D&D lite, and im enjoying my time with it 👍

Through dark forests, goblin caves and even a valley of giants, gather your party of heroes to defeat the evil wizard. Dark Quest 3 is quite different from it's predecessor with more challenges and rng dice rolls. Start off by picking four heroes to form a party, each with their own set of card abilities to upgrade during a play through. There are several heroes to unlock throughout, all of which offer a variety of tactics. The Savager is a beast when fully upgraded. Though it's mostly a figure out how to play yourself type of game, after a couple of run attempts, it becomes easy to catch on. The rng of die rolls and events are balanced. Most of the time it doesn't lean too heavily toward positive or negative outcomes. Achievements are for just beating areas but several attempts will be needed as it can be hard to beat and not all areas can be visited in a single run. Unfortunately there is one glitched achievement. After learning how to play, Dark Quest 3 became an enjoyable fun time.

Liked the game a lot. I like choosing my own routes. Difficulty stems from an initially poor understanding of combat mechanics; enemies are highted in Red, the next attacking enemy is Purple, etc., and finding the proper Toons to utilize in order to win. I beat the game w Prince, Archer, Druid, Savager. Routes taken within the game actually matter. Certain Runes can only be attained in certain Boss fights during a certain Route. It was fun trying to figure out which Route was most advantageous to get whichever Runes to better fit my Playstyle. More deep than I initially gave credit. I am pleased with my purchase.

Plays like a table top card game. Requires multiple play throughs to unlock better gear and characters. Simple yet challenging with some random luck.

The game follows tabletop rules and fun just more casual and forgiving. However the game is dragged down by the combat. There is no grid telling the player where enemy can or cant go. No movement restrictions of enemy so they can ignore tank/frontline units and go straight for backline. Very little information given on different enemy types such as units that mind control or stealth. The player is expected to know stuff game doesnt teach u.
