Grey Skies: A War of the Worlds Story

This is not a AAA or even AA game. This is a project built by 2 dedicated people. Keeping that in mind, I am genuinely impressed with this game. The character models and the locations are very cool and with good variety. The enemies, combat, and craftables remind me of a cross between Alan Wake and The Last of Us, but of course on significantly lower budget and studio size. The real issues are clunky mechanics, stiff NPC's, and poor/not enough checkpoints. But this game was created by TWO people! None of y'all could do better, so appreciate the good parts and the effort that went into them

I have supported Nathan's work from Hanwell through Darker Skies; I came to play this earlier title last for some reason, and finished it tonight. I'm going to start with the good: There are certainly some thrills to be had here; certain sequences were very tense, and I loved them. I am a sucker for stealth and that's what this game is. This title looks very good too: not photo-realistic, more stylized. I also thought the music was KILLER. Now for the things that could have been better: The controls are not sufficient for the kind of game this is. Stealth controls need to be super tight, the movement here is quite clunky. It's hard to do precision moves under pressure with slushy controls. Also, this game is buggy, with a distinct lack of polish. I was sent back to previous checkpoints numerous times for no reason. This game also contains one my least favorite chase sequences EVER. I had a generally fun time with this game and will buy their next one. If you like stealth, get it.

I 100% beat the game. I think it is definitely worth playing through. But, I'd wait for a sale. I really like the story. The game has it's issues though. There are a lot of invisable barriers that slow me down. I haven't read the book, but in the movie there wasn't zombies. And the most frustrating part is the check point system, it sets you back 15 minutes at a time in areas you are meant to fail, while also looting all through that 15. But, i found u can almost always go back after going ahead. I'm going to finish the game, but just know that it's really frustrating before you buy. You need to take advantage of the water jar and electric thing.

To the creator of this game please know this is not a bad game. Im sorry people can be mean. I enjoyed it and i usually dislike this genre. All in all good game and a great story.
