Guacamelee! 2 Complete

This game series deserves to see a third entry.

This review is beyond overdue, but it doesn't change my opinion on this game. Hilarious dialogue, silly references, challenging platforming and the euphoric art style. Can we also talk about the combat mechanics??? Goodness, I don't know what makes the combat so sastisfying to me. Could be how powerful and crispy it is and all the possible combos you can create once you unlock more. Orrrrrr it could be the Lucha fighting style. The upgrades will make them a lot more fun to use as well. Overall, it's a blast to play and the replayability isn't too bad either. 100/10 👏

Played through 100%. Game had me constantly switching between laughing from all the great humor spread throughout the game and raging at the difficulty of the (sometimes) brutal platforming. Deffinitely recommend this to anyone that has played the first or is just looking for a great metroidvania style platformer.

Just finished the game 100% including DLC for at least the second time. It’s been a few years since I’ve played through guacamelee 1 and 2 but they both still hold up so well. The combat and platforming are both tight and super satisfying. The music is excellent in both games. The upgrade path in 2 adds a fun progression dynamic. If you enjoy metroidvanias, do yourself a favor and play both games. This is up there with Ori.
