Heart&Slash

Challenging permadeath with 100+ unlockable weapons and body parts. randomized weapons and levels means every playthrough isnt the same. from boxing gloves and shotguns to giant hammers and shurikens. each weapon has different combos that mesh well with other weapons. use the volt slicer to launch enemies into the air and then slam your flaming warhammer into the ground. the combat is great. strategically dodge or maybe get lucky and find a shield. did i mention you can upgrade your weapons and body parts or sell them for health? there is alot more to the game than i thought which made it worth the money to me. it doesnt deserve 1 star not even close. the character does run fast but you get use to it. and i never had a problem with the camera... worth 20 but if you catch this on sale its a no brainer

This game is addicting. If you like Dark Soulesc combat combined with Megaman Legends, then this is definitely a game worth picking up. My only problem with this game is that the camera controls can get a little wonkey sometimes, but, overall, still a solid experience.

Now I have put in a decent amount of time playing and it's fun. HOWEVER, many issues are apparent across multiple playthroughs. The movement is fast and certain items make it worse (bdoss legs), combat isnt bad but its not good either. Weapons make or break the game, especially when it comes to the Hrt-Proto character. Ledges get glitchy and enemy combinations (rocket troops on ground and air) plus the camera will make almost impossible to see the character at times. Items can also trivialize the game leaving ease (or possibility) of progress purely to rng. If this game actually had updates and fixes I would really enjoy it but sadly those arent coming. WITH THAT IN MIND the game is still fun, just when rng lets it. if its on sale, get it, if not, I would pass.

I stopped playing it for a long time. The soundtrack was so good it made me come back to it. If you do not buy the game atleast listen to the soundtrack. And you should also know that there is no saving because it is a ROGUELIKE. Many of the one stars complained about the fact that if you die, you restart. If you are into games focused heavily on rng than consider buying it. If you like stages being the same everytime than don't.

4 stars may be a little bias given some fair criticisms, but I really do enjoy the hell out of this rogue-lite and its entire presentation. I only wish it had more of everything. Given there are some older rogue-lites getting more content, It'd be nice to see H&S grow more. I'd happily support it. Props to everyone who worked on this gem.
