Lichdom: Battlemage

Not the greatest thing ever made, but after learning how to play, I was blown away by how good this game gets. Definitely worth the money. But there is a game breaking bug after you destroy the water cyphon it tells you to chase the twins but tells you to go the wrong way. Just head back outside and you will find Gryphon by the wall near some enemies, after defeating them the next checkpoint fixes the waypoint.

Just bought for $1.99 ($0.50 less than I paid for a normal SNICKERS candy bar at 7-11 two (2) days ago for those interested in its 2023 relative value). Played a coupla hours so far, and yes, the game is kinda janky, its not nearly as bad as reported. 1st area was a bit dark, and the graphics look less than 1080p, but it runs ok. The control scheme works well. The spell upgrade / crafting system seems convoluted, at least thats my impression. Probably closer to a 3.5 than 4 stars. The SNICKERS was $0.50 more. The employee said "everything costs more cuz cov-ed". --- Lichdom Battlemage does not agree. Game will NOT change your life, dont expect it to.

Overhatted for no reason tbh, like bro you play as a ******* wizard. The games not as dark as people say, not enough to be unplayable and its only the first level thats somewhat dark. You can unlock and use different magic types throughout the game, you can also craft different spells in that magic type, anyway its a 10/10 for me.

I'm normally critical of games but this time i am saying don't believe the negative comments......you can use magic without the stupid cooldowns most games do and thats a win 4 me, plus your health regens by it's own on top of having 3 life bars, Also theres no stupid pointless side-quests(not all r but too many games r getting ridiculous with the side missions)just a main story mode,......I'm hoping for a second game that lets me explore my female DRAGON, her relationship with her sister and the GODHOOD ending

I must preface this review by pointing out that there is an update to this game. That update is a MUST, as it fixes a great many problems with the game. WITHOUT that update, this game rates about a 2/5, largely due to major frame rate issues, tearing, slowdown, and input delay. HOWEVER, this review is for the updated/patched version of the game! I feel like Lichdom: Battlemage is a game that takes some trial and error to really gel with a player. There are several familiar systems at play here, but they all work differently than you expect. This can be a roadblock for some, but given a bit of experimentation, you not only get used to it, but the implementations begin to make sense. The spellcrafting, in particular, takes a bit of learning. Once it does click, though, Lichdom does something that no other game really does: makes you feel like a mage that could wipe the floor with the likes of Gandalf, Merlin and Voldemort! Lichdom's a very linear experience, but it's a great power trip!
