Little Big Adventure - Twinsen's Quest

Played the original on PC as a child and enjoyed it despite some design jank. Since then I have played thousands of games and coming into the remake with a much more discerning palatte I must say this is a mediocre experience at best. I do appreciate the quality of life enhancements- not having to open a menu and changing to run or sneak or fight is convenient. I don't hate the new artstyle or Zoe having a much more active role in the plot but here's what brings the whole package down- this is a budget remake of an already niche game with dated design. I assume this was crowdfunded? Who is this for? New players are going to get stuck trying to get to the water tower: at no point did any NPC explain I had to buy gas and steal the motorcycle from the soldier that stopped to pee on the side of the road, there isn't even a map to inform players as to what's even on the island. Old players are essentially paying to experiece a buggy trip down memory lane.

I give them credit for pulling off nostalgia and lore, 4 stars for that clear effort.. but DAMN was the game boring, and EASY. Combat and puzzles were dull, characters/story not very memorable. Cool idea but nothing beats the depth of the original

If you want to see story telling with imagination put into limited tech from 1994, you'll see what a few people with passion can create when they love to make art to share VS a bloated over regulated ideology driven multi billion/million dollar former shell of themselves company that never takes risks anymore and DEIs their company to death and blames YOU for not wanting it

Have to watch Youtube to learn how to throw a ball RIGHT AWAY! On Xbox only talks about pushing RS. Nothing about the bumper and trigger also needed to throw accurately. Thought game was broken. How much more missing stuff??
