Lotus Reverie: First Nexus

I read novels often, at a rate of about 50 pages per hour. Takes me about a week and maybe 8 hours to finish a 300 page novel. With that said.....this game is a bit much. Just as a warning...the tutorial ("First Day" in game) was roughly 2.5 hours straight of reading. This may end up being a good game....but i think 2.5 hours of reading to simply introduce the player to the game is a bit much. I feel like finishing this game is going to be equivalent to reading a novel trilogy......and i feel people should be prepared for that before purchasing.

[You are overcome by a flurry of emotions, and your heart aches...] Okay, so, it is a pretty hopeless situation...you try to hold on to any and all hope you can while you try to figure things out and build your strength, but...in the end... [...the pain in your chest subsides, but is quickly replaced by a pounding headache.] ...the battle system for the duels (and the tutorial, as there are battles there as well) is tough to come to terms with. That was easily the most frustrating part, how random it was. Will your characters do what you wanted, have you figured it out, or did you miss something? How will your opponents act, or react...? Is there a pattern, can you realize it, take advantage of it...? Still, excellent that there is some actual gameplay involved. Good rewards from exploration and interactions to influence the combat, too. [To set priority in a duel, use X to swap from movement control to action control, then D-PAD RIGHT to scroll over to the enemy, A to set things.]

Personally, every character striked me as absolutely amazing right from the get go! Although I haven't beaten the game, the majority of what i've experienced is learning about all the amazing quirks of the cast and really feeling like i know everyone personally. But I'm a ******** and forgot what the game is truly about, and that hit me like a truck. I won't spoil what i've seen, but it makes me tear up especially since everything is so happy and hopeful until the moment happens.
