Overland by Finji

Was a fun strategy survival and Was a fun concept. But the game lacks content and replayability, played and beat it in about 4 hours. Not worth it for the price but worth a try if it goes on sale.

I've really been enjoying this almost rogue-like strategy game. it`s difficult in a similar way to Dark Souls, in that each defeat teaches you something and victory always seems possible if you're smart. Plus, the tactics RPG elements really scratch that itch without having to take all the time a tactics game usually requires.

Great game. What you would hope and expect. The vibes off the bat are great. We really need this to be a subgenre of games that gets more popular. Flame in the flood and that recent space game rogue light are good examples of travel survival. PS LOL to the guy who paid for this game and then got upset it's turn based. Too bad it's not one of the first things in the description.

Its just not my cup of tea. But thats not to say it doesnt know who its audience is Pros: • VERY challenging gameplay. Be careful in the mountains • Important and conflicting decision making • Recruitable/"invitable" characters including doggos, capable of prolonging your run • A decent storyline, similar to Red Dawn (1984) or The Birds (1963) about people trying to escape a land overridden with the antagonists who want the protagonists dead • Theres an undo button • You can barter items with traders Cons: • It takes only two hits and youre dead. One hit and you can only move across one tile at a time. And if youre in later levels this is practically a death sentence • The undo button can only reverse one turn • The levels get cluttered with obstacles too quickly • Not enough handicaps especially for my noobself • Indie game so not too many guides out there and no guides in-game Again, pretty solid game... Its just not for me. But I can see SOME people enjoying it... Three stars

This game is mad fun, if you like this style of game. Its also hard as a bish if you mess up on some the puzzles. Could use a few control updates, other than that soild game.
