Risen

I'm writing this for anyone else like me who already own the 360 BC version, who saw the screenshots and might be wondering why this was even released, and if it's worth it. I'll tell you, it's a bigger difference then THQ's rerelease of Kingdom's of Amalur. The 360 version was like a port from PC with all the settings on low. This is basically the same except all the settings at the highest level. You get a lot more foliage, better looking effects and the overall lighting might be the biggest difference; it's wonderful. Character models and textures appear sharper and more defined, but not updated, y'know? Hi-res PS2 models. Beyond that, you know what this game is; it's simplified Gothic, it's Elex before Elex. It's eurojank, open-world goofiness, nonsense and frustration, bizarre dialogue, genuinely impactful choices where you can't see everything in a single playthrough and consistently rewarding exploration. Just like KoA, I bought this to encourage THQ Nordic to invest further.

A surprise but a welcome one at that, hoping this release means we will see the whole trilogy released as Risen 3 didn't make it on the final backwards compatibility batch.

I hope it is understood that this is what THQ has been doing, and it is appreciated. i for one have always love the Risen series and would like to see them bring it back to life.

Please make it backwards compatible or rerelease it. I would have preordered Titan Lords. Here I waited for a sale. Oh the game? Is good. Give it a try. You might not like it, it's not for everybody. It's hard and doesn't hold your hand. But if I can do it so can you. I believe in you. ✨

Rough controls. Combat has no target lock. No hand holding....monsters wreck u. Love it.
