The Last Oricru - Final Cut

TLO is for those who have a soft spot for budget Euro RPGs. The visuals are what you'd expect from a small dev. The story really sucked me in and surprised me. I started the game backing one faction, but by the end I was seeking thier destruction. Choices matter! I loved the snarky main character and the game's humor. Full disclosure: I played the game on Story Mode, because I'm old.

Your actions change the dialogue and story.. Once i finished the game i made a new game to change my actions & fighting style.

Its not for everyone. Fighting and leveling is same as Souls game. You die, go find your body to reclaim points. Its definitely not as brutal as Elden Ring but can still challenge you with mobs. The story is linear so you arnt wondering where to go or what to do, but you can still grind exp easily enough to help you pass certain areas. Story is lighted hearted and humours which kept me playing. Imagine Dragon Age gamelike choices but you dont feel bad all of a suddenly diming out a guy to the Queen so you get a good suit of armor and she Spartan kicks him off a ledge. Combat could be better but its not nerve wrecking like Elden Ring where if you mess up you wipe. Character building is simple and easy to adjust on the fly. Co-op is fun with another online friend, you can really work together and cause some havoc on the battlefield. Decent game for 40$ if you ask me, especially if you arnt great at Dark Soul like games. This feels like it evened the playing field

If you like games like bound by flame or old bioware then this hits the spot. Is it perfect, no. Does it give you that (my choice matters) feeling? Definitely! Combat camera can be a little frustrating at first. But once you get use to it or learn how to pick your lock on spots it becomes much more enjoyable and just about the story. Which is where this game really feels great!

Couch co-op done right. Combat is unique and the abilities too. Very different, in the best way possible.
