I was born in '84. Grew up playing D&D whilst camping thru out my entire childhood. Back when gaming wasn't popular, I had a board game called "Hero Quest" by Milton Bradley. This game feels inspired by it. The resemblance is uncanny, it's like playing it without having to burn thru pencils and erasers during the tedius task of updating character sheets every step of the way. I like it. Thanks for the memories.

Heroquest RPG!
Awesome boardgame style turn based RPG. Love the art and the old school feel of sprite animations. Please make more! It was a lot of fun!

Reminds me of the old Heroquest board game!
After checking out screenshots I felt it kinda reminded me of the old board game Heroquest, so I bought it. It pretty much is a revamped Heroquest game for console. A lot of the same rules are here, but enough of a change to feel its been updated for quicker play.
I only wish that a map editor or more quest are added down the road, even if its a paid DLC.

Nice board style game.
Love the gameplay. Only knocks are in maps it would be nice if visited rooms were highlighted and game is short with little replay value.

Was fun, then bugs ruined it.
This would be a 4 star review but a bug ruined experience. So, when at the end of the game, just past the mask gate, I Have my wizard use tornado to take out some bad guys. Then, next turn, my wizard drinks a refresh potion and casts tornado again. It is at this point the game glitches and the only comand it accepts is abandon quest. Any potions used are wasted as is any investments at Lizzies before the mission. This occured twice.
Also, one of the random effects gained from Lizzies is a boost to a stat the wizard does not possess which could result in wasted gold. That also occured in my play through.
