Daymare: 1998

Just finished on XSX. The game ran around 45 fps and I did not have any game breaking bugs or 1 crash. I want to note other reviews complain about have to load your bullets into the magazine before shooting but this can just be simply turned off in the settings. There is 4 guns and no lethal tactical. There’s a full story with cutscenes and lasts close to 6 hours. The downside is slow character movement especially when navigating the UI. Great? Mehh worth $5 on sale.. I’d say so. Stay fresh.

This game is far from perfect. I am on my third playthrough and I can confirm graphics aren't pretty, voice acting is terrible as well as the dialogue, and the movement is very janky BUT, I enjoyed my roughly 15 hours with the game. I love all the references and easter eggs tucked throughout and while I feel the story could have been told better, the kind of "twist" ending moved this game a little away from a straight RE ripoff. (playing through my second time I noticed hints to pieces of the story I didn't catch the first time) Definitely would recommend waiting for a sale, but if you're big into survival horror and can look past the indie game jank, Daymare can be an enjoyable experience.

Frist the pros. If you like claasic horror survival then u got it. Eerie environment, limited ammo and heals, limied inventory/ management, puzzles etc. I personally love the reload mechanic, it adds a sense of realism. And pressure, Now the cons. Dont get if ur not on a series S/X. Frames will drop and have audio lag. Additionally the voice acting is weak for those who care. Remember this is from a small dev. Bonus if you like this game or would like it more fast paced, check out its prequel, Daymare 1994 Sandcastle, which it is also a good game.

If you're a fan of PS2 era zombie bioweapon survival horror, this delivers in spades. Voice acting is appropriately bad minus the main character, and there's a good amount of puzzles and lore scraps. This game knows the genre and does most things totally right. For 9 bucks on sale this is a no brainer for any classic horror fans.

The gameis fun it has its bad moments but its a small dev game its not AAA game so theres not a lot of money in it but its good
