DRAGON QUEST XI S: Echoes of an Elusive Age - Definitive Edition

DQM for Gameboy got me through some rough times. Man is a legend and will be missed

I'm over 40, and I grew up with Dragon Warrior on NES, and Final Fantasy on SNES, so I know what I'm about. I've also platinumed this on PS4, twice. Once on the normal edition, and then again when the S edition released. This is my third go, and I'm still loving it. If you're familiar with this series, this game feels like they have polished every facet they could to create the purest form of the Dragon Quest experience. The story is a real breath of fresh air, as long as you haven't had it spoiled for you. I could compare it to another retro rpg, but doing so would itself be a spoiler. If you have affection for eight and sixteen bit jrpgs, you could do a whole heck of a lot worse than Dragon Quest XI.

Game starts off pretty slow. Stick with it and you won't be disappointed. By the 30 hour mark I was absolutely hooked. By hour 50 its become one of my favorite games ever. Combat gets much better and I recommend taking control of all party while in battle.

Defected from Final Fantasy bc I am craving a AAA turn based rpg. It's great!

This game is heavenly. So much meaningful content and a great story. The combat system is down right sublime. Everything works so well. Cannot recommend enough for new players as well as JRPG enjoyers.
