How have I never played this until 2022?!!?!

MASTER WORKS ALL, YOU CAN'T GO WRONG

One of the most engaging and rewarding single player games I've ever played. 10 years later and that's still my opinion. I had completely forgotten about the pawn system until I saw a friend playing. Purely out of instinct, my brain said "Remember to pick up her pawn next time I head out." That's when I knew I'd be buying this once again. Seriously guys, it's a good game. Might seem a bit dated by todays standards visually, but the gameplay is solid and the leveling systems (for player and pawns) have definately withstood the test of time. I could go on, but the best advice would be to check it out online, watch some gameplay. Take care and good hunting!

Picked this up out of curiosity for the sequel and saw it was on sale for 5$. Didnt think id play more than 2 hours. This game has turned out to be the most fun I've had since. Skyrim. Icant wait for the second and will probably play this until it launches. Thank you Capcom for this gem and Xbox for the upgrades and back compat.

Played it into the ground at launch and revisited off and on ever since. Combines a satisfying character creator that also allows the player to create their companion for team diversity and roleplay, a hefty set of unique yet simple classes and skills, a vast open world to explore that displays effective environmental storytelling, and a classic "hero's journey" story that is large in scope without being convoluted and unapproachable (and actually makes new game+ playthroughs makes sense). Not to mention a Shadow of the Colossus-esque monster-climbing mechanic that makes battles with larger foes more dynamic, the online "pawn system" component, and the stellar art and sound design. This game got me through challenging times and I'm happy to see Capcom consistently putting out unique and soulful experiences. I am hyped for Dragon's Dogma II.
