Take old school metroid, add two parts cat, than add a dash of mega man. Blend for 30 press into game disc. Than 420a bowl and play!🐱‍👤 Some people are saying it's only in b&w this not true! You have to unlock the cartridges in game. The first one you get is the when drain the third water room. After that you change the palette in the menu tab.

Fans of Retro games & Axiom Verge, rejoice. Reminds me of the original Metroid series on NES I played back in the 80's, just in a smaller, bite-sized package. Map isn't big and full of filler to pad the game, every room serves a purpose. Easy to figure where you are due to coordinate system and overall layout. It would be VERY hard to get lost. Upgrades are sweet and to the point, allowing progression to the next area. Unlockables give acces to "secret" upgrades later for those that want to collecte everything and also unlock palette swaps in the menu. Bosses and mini-bosses are pretty easy but fun for what's on offer. Game can be completed in about 4+ hours so perfect for an afternoon or palette cleanser from a larger game. Enjoyed the nostalgia, and game stayed around long enough to not get tiring or boring. This is for fans of old-school Metroid. Metroidvania fans and those stuck on grafx should look elsewhere. Well worth half an afternoon if you have Gamepass.

96.9% completed so far, further than over 97% who have downloaded it atm. Hit boxes are fine. Don't like the aesthetic & color schemes? Photos & trailer show the look, so why download? Anyway, I like the simple aesthetic. Easy to jump into right away, not a tough game but enjoyable, especially as you gain abilities. You don't have to worry worry about remembering a lot if you are away from it for a while either. Not a complex game, esp. not overly so & doesn't require all fingers and toes to play. I find this game to be a welcome little treat. Right away you'll think Metroid & Megaman but without the difficultly (esp. not like Megaman's) though one thing will come up a few times to give more challenge, which is like Robotnik that keeps coming back with another contraption. Controls & sound effects, while simple, do a lot for fun factor. It's a good game to chill with that doesn't add to stress that you may be wanting an escape from. Look elsewhere if you just want an adrenaline fix.

This game is amazing. Open exploration, just the right amount of difficulty, fun boss fights, and a cool story bro. I will be on the lookout for games from doinksoft in the future. PS: the swamp matcha pallette is so close to the OG gameboy...its the best!
