Ghosts 'n Goblins Resurrection

This was dark souls before dark souls was dark souls

Just like the old days.

Great art, music, mechanics ,etc. Would be 5 stars if not for one of it's signature aspects, the difficulty. Put it on easy if you don't want to have a depressing sitdown to rethink your entire gaming life...

You will lose your mind if you start on the two hardest difficulties - Knight and Legend. Even Squire will cause the little vein on your head to show. Tried starting the game on Legend and it took almost. Two. Hours. To get to the second checkpoint on the first level. Played Page (easiest) and died 13 times before beating the first zone. HOWEVER... This game is indeed a fantastic platformer, making other platforms seem incomplete in comparison. Be ready to constantly lose and learn from the losses.

Beautiful hand drawn graphics. Game has been entirely redone in its level layout. Magic unlocks have been added. Multiple paths to the end. But be warned,as with the original one false move and your toast. No jump adjusting. Once you jump you are committed. It will take some comitment with lots of trial and error to beat. Sound and music have been enhanced but kept fairly retro. A fair price on sale for 15 bucks. Def a game you'd wish there was a physical copy.
