Mato Anomalies

Loving the sound design, character design, art style & the use of color. The gameplay is straightforward enough, so very easy to pick up. Definitely recommend.

This game is unique and places its own take on the RPG genre. This would be a perfect game for you to start with if you want to experience turn-based rpgs, and for the more experienced it still has enough to even keep you happy.

This is the epitome of a 6/10 game - it has moments of inventiveness, but it's a poorly-told story that gets stretched further than necessary. It's an interesting world, but the writing is subpar. I wanted to like it more than I did, but I'm having to force myself to finish it at the 35 hour mark, and I'm not really having a great time. I hate giving a poor-mid review to a game where genuine effort was clearly made, but this game is deeply flawed.

It's no more wordy than the average JRPG, so I don't know why it's called a visual novel. This is like a PS2 or Vita JRPG: I mean that in the best possible way. Play it if you like weird turnbased games. And hey, no one gets imprisoned and loses all their gear, so it's not your average tropey JRPG either.

The story is interesting, but the writing feels a bit truncated at times, as though they wanted to cut the amount of text down and got a bit carried away. Tho why someone who doesn't like reading would be playing a game like this i have no idea. that would be pretty dumb. Otherwise it's a pretty stright forward rpg. Has an east asian supernatural cyberpunk esque vibe. Calls back to that late 2010ish jrpg era when the market was flooded with turn based ots dungeon crawlers. Does it pretty well, no complaints. If you miss that kinda thing, youll dig this. Doesn't really break much new ground, but it does some fun genre hopping. And familiar can be quite comfortable.
