Operencia: The Stolen Sun
Zen Studios · Role playing
Operencia: The Stolen Sun embraces everything you love about classic first-person dungeon-crawlers, enhancing the old-school turn-based RPG experience with modern sensibilities. Gather your team of memorable characters and guide them through a world inspired by Central European mythology.
This game is not for everyone but if you love grid based dungeon-crawlers then you will love this game. For what this game is it does well. It is frustrating seeing people give this game 2 or 1 stars just based on movement alone.
Sadly they just don't get the charm of this throw back classic style of game. So far the dungeons seem rather large and the encounters are not to far and in between. But if you are looking for that classic dungeon-crawler feel, then I highly recommend this game.
Side note it also allows full mouse & keyboard support

Excellent game. Wonderfully told story.
Cons: Some voice acting not great. Movement takes about an hour to get used to. First potion crafting puzzle is harder than it needs to be.
Pros: Most voice acting is good. All characters voiced. Companions feel like they are there travelling with you. No random encounters or level grinding. Companions not in main fighting party still share in XP from battles. Potion crafting actually really easy as hints are logically easy to figure out. Puzzles are challenging but all you need to figure them out is given to you.
Great adventure, very fun. Like an old school RPG. Levels are creative and interesting. Designed like old D&D dungeon maps tile based goodness.
Movement is easier to learn if you look at the mini map grid. Eventually feels like modern 1st person action but with no diagnol movement. Sort of like sliding into turns.

Stop attacking rpgs
I am an older gamer and at the risk of sounding like an older gamer will actually say I enjoy this type of game. It would seem to me that more powerful consoles, easily accessible internet, and a whole lot of online social interactions while gaming, have really changed the face of gaming over the past generation. All of that is fine, none of that is a bad thing, but what some people do not seem to understand is that not every game can be call of duty. Not everybody wants call of duty. In a day where 8 and 16 bit console games can actually make a comeback, it has never been more obvios that there is an older generation of gamer that still buys games. Difference is I don't get my pals together and reviewbomb Minecraft bc it doesn't play like Phantasy Star.

Fun Challenging Old School Dungeon Crawler
Do not buy this game if you don't like old school dungeon crawlers. If you do like old school turn based dungeon crawlers the game is fun , has challenging combat interesting characters, good storyline, good rpg options , and gameplay features, and interesting puzzels. The graphic style is a unique blend between cut scenes, and gameplay. The controls are normal for this type of first person old school dungeon crawler, you move one square at a time right , left, forward, and back...... that is how this style of rpg is played, you can also adjust the camera sensitivity. The game is on game pass so it is worth a try , the more you play this game you will get use to old school dungeon crawler controls, and movement. The game really is well designed , and the turn based combat is fun , and challenging. The voice acting is good, and it adds to the game, and is better then no voice acting. The game has 3 character classes, and 3 skill trees to customize fighting styles, plus attributes.

Awesome. Game, Good Story, Charmingly Fun
This game is awesome. Lots of old school charm, but none of the frustration; and still decently challenging. Thestory and lore is fantastic, really good puzzles, a just perfect amount of combat - no respawns, but enough enemies to be engaging. This game is a lot like if Child Of Light and Stranger Of Sword City had a kid, but with a liberal dose of adventure game spice thrown in.
There were a few points that could be improved, none are dealbreakers. Free camera with grid movement took a little adjusting. The voice acting is flat at times, but charming. The menu system could be better for camp shopping. The stat system and range mechanics are not clearly elaborated, but you don't need to minmax.
Really good game, would love a sequel.
