Vampire: The Masquerade - Swansong PRIMOGEN EDITION

Inexecusable in 2022 to have poor framerates, poor cutscenes where character animations are clunky and the lip movements don't match the words and the story is just ok. Seems rushed like many games these days. Sad because it had great potential

I am ok with a slow story game but the inability to save, you have to restart the level makes it barely playable. the cutscene frame rate seems like an xbox 360 game. It takes a second to focus after any cutscene focus shift. When it does catch up it is magic.

There was a lot of love for the lore on this project. The story is interesting, most of the cast is enjoyable, the atmosphere is well done. That being said, glitches can be seen and happen just enough to annoying. At best, they're an eye roll and a laugh, at worst demanding a reset of the scene. Couple this with the inability to save during a scene, makes it unbearable when you want to fix a mistake. Dialogue skipping makes this easier, but you will realize that the game intends for you to fail in spades initially, with what success you have coming in small chunks of XP. The failure or inability to do as much as you can means each character needs to be built *for* their upcoming scene; knowledge you won't have without a guide or *many* resets to get it right, making the upgrade process as a whole irrelevant. Originally there was a joke here, but recently tried it again to see if my opinion changed, and as it is right now, I just can't recommend it anymore. Should've been a movie.

Just from it having the name of vampires: The Masquerade means that it should be an entirely different game than what they put out. If i wanted to play CSI: Undead Victims Unit, I'd troll some forum for a free mod for a preexisting terrible game, not be tricked into paying 60 dollars for exactly that. Absent are the first or third person mechanics of the good games, the rpg elements, the sandbox style open worlds, even the ability to drink blood freely, as every vampires game- EVEN BLOODRAYNE -has as a standard vampire ability. This Escape From Monkey Island ripoff is a false advertisement 101 in releasing 3 whole screenshots for a game series with a good reputation to cash in on its predecessors hard work. Shame on you, Nacon Studios, i hope your dinner is always cold.
