8Doors: Arum's Afterlife Adventure

If you're a fan of Metroidvanias, you'll probably like this game. It doesn't do much new, but it does what it does really well. Interesting story, pretty art style, and there's a button to walk around with an umbrella. What more could you want?

Art style, game control is all solid bosses are good it's just the last boss has 3 phases, YIKES😎😉👍

I love this game, similar to Hollow Knight. I bought this game a week ago on PC, i had to buy it again from that discount because this amazing game is so under-rated.

Maybe I am playing too many Metroidvanias but 8 Doors would probably be a masterpiece 15 years ago but in todays market it does everything well which makes it average. The game is beautiful with it's fairly unique art style. Music is good. Controls are good. You get character upgrades and certain weapons give you abilities you need to proceed in the game. There is a very small skill tree of personal abilities you can use to customize your character but I didn't find many of the abilities useful and the ones that are useful very much stand out. The game is fairly difficult on normal mode. Bosses can kill in 3-6 hits but they have tells that let you know their attacks and it is satisfying to figure them out. Overall it's a good Metroidvania, it doesn't reinvent the wheel(I don't know if any game can at this point) but provides a good adventure. It took me about 14 hours to beat the game 100% and another 2.5 to do a speedrun achievement. If it looks up your alley then it probably is.

A nice unique artstyle and fun gameplay thats similar to hollow knight. Really great and sadly underated game.
