The sound effects, the music, story, and even the atmosphere brought on by the various types of regions and creatures is something to experience first hand. I found the difficulty to be a perfect balance between challenging and forgiving where it's rewarding to win and losing just means you can do better. Do yourself favor and do not let this generation slip by without playing this game.

If HR Geiger and Metroid had a love child...
...it'd be Axiom Verge. With an amazingly addicting Metroidvania feel, the game is for those that could appreciate its outstanding gameplay. Include a masterful technoir soundtrack, creepily detailed environments right out of a science fiction novel from the mid 80s and unforgettably bad *** bosses that are going to murder you a hundred times over, AV is not just the video game we wanted. It's the video game we need.

Look no further. Just buy this. NOW.
It's easy to get lost in the sea of self-proclaimed Metroidvania games. There are so many poor imitators out there, trying to make a buck off us nostalgic suckers. On the other hand, there is Axiom Verge. Mr. Happ has delivered a love letter to the 8-bit NES classic that all others pale in comparison to. The graphics, music, sound effects, and gameplay are perfection. Just buy it, play it, and then pray with me for Axiom Verge II.

Flawless Game to the Platforming Genre.
Axiom Verge is a game i hold close because i love difficult platformers.
Theres a Huge Similuarity between this game and Metroid but ... the way Metroid is going it almost needs a reboot. This Game is Fresh ,Creative, and plays like a Classic NES game . The Original Sound Track is Fantastic and Reallys Sets this Mood i can't Describe. The boss Fights Are one of the best parts but the exploration aspect will have you searching every corner for upgrades , Abilitys and lore . All in All i had a good time with this game it reminds me of when they were good.

Experience this game
A game like this doesnt come around often. This exceeded all of my expectations of an indie game. The gameplay gets increasingly more challenging, the music is off the chains something special and hypnotic, the eerie dark techy vibe was extremely satisfying, and the story; while initially hard to follow, sucks you in while you learn about Trace and this new world/reality. I beat the game months ago and still play it occasionally to this day
