Gods Will Fall - Valiant Edition

So I've done everything this game has to offer. The game is pretty straight forward. 10 Gods occupy this island and you have 8 random warriors with varying sizes, weapons and stats. The tutorial dungeon helps you get a grasp of the basics, but the enemies varying attack patterns and seemingly flexible hit windows make parrying unreliable at points (unfortunately, 2 bosses fall into this category.) The bosses all vary in power and change in difficulty every new play through too, so there is no set order, but they also never really mention this, so a new player can get overwhelmed easily just by entering the first real dungeon. Combat takes a while to get decent with, but thats just most games like this. Most of the cool features like upgrading your weapons or using the well are poorly explained in game, but reward a little patience and experimenation. The item drop system is unfair and unrewarding, giving you practically garbage for killing a god. A fun time waster, but that's it.

I wanna preface this by saying I'm not gonna go outta my way to defend this game, but compared to all the other bland indie titles gifted by gold, this wasn't that bad. By no means is it amazing, i would be delusional to reccomend this over something like Hades or Curse of the dead gods. I would say that this isn't worth purchasing at full price and the screenshots are a tad misguided, but for a quick and relatively fair difficultied game I would say give it a shot. That being said, I will say the combat is kinda repetetive and there's no clear guidance with sluggish controls and some dumb stuff sometimes. But along with the bad I found some good, the random warriors you can get feels fun to me cause I know that I can beat the game and come back with a different experience, I like that you can build up 1 warrior to be your best and if you lose them you have to rely on your own skill more with a less powerful character. Its not perfect but for me its a perfecly average indie title

Its a decent game, but since it wasn't a AAA game its score tanked. Pity too, it's actually pretty fun.

You all act like you didnt also get portal2. Every month complaining bout the free games you barely start to play. Crazy idea if you want a better free game lobby a voting campaign in the official discords for them and see how it goes im personally a little tired of the free games that are meant to sell you fake outfits and may never leave beta. But i guess those are what you guys seem to keep throwing your money at because they keep getting worse. I for 1 am glad to own this even if it ends up bad im more interested in a new take on a concept full game then another bad remake or time suck battle pass login daily nonsense. Games arent hangout and fashion show chats people who hangout game theres a difference between earning a cool weapon and buying 1 and theres a difference between rewarding loyal players and bribing them to login. Stop paying for trash and all games will get better. Thats the real solution. But oh just complain and trash a real game for not catering 2 you nice strat

The game is pretty fun but very short. It has moments where it can be quite challenging but kinda like dark souls its trial and error. Just gotta learn the bosses moves. There are elements of RNG when it comes to the 8 warriors and what stats they get as well as there stat increase/decrease through "story" which i use the term lightly. RNG also effects how difficult the dungeon is itself. The game is a bit sore on the eyes but i can look past that. The only gripe i have is the jumping. Feels unresponsive and have lost quite a few runs through a dungeon because of it. Could use polish but i doubt it will ever see it. A nice gwg though you wont miss out on much not having it in your library
