King's Bounty II - Lord's Edition

The game's been patched a lot since release. Not only are there difficulty options now, but I have yet to find a glitch beyond some minor clipping and I've been playing for over fifteen hours. Yes, it's slow. If you're looking for fast-paced action, this isn't for you. But, if you're like me and enjoy slow, strategic, turn-based games, then this one is a good bet.

A recent update has broken the dlc for series xs. Suggest purchase of only the base game. Gameplay is still fun but if you had any of the dlc units and extras, they disappear. Reinstall from scratch does not fix.

This game has problems, but if you're into strategy games this game is good for that. The voice acting is lame and funny, the story lasts a while, and the combat is fun. There is a sidequest that seems to be almost impossible after a patch, but other than that it's decent fun if you grab on sale.

i have seen many reviews angry at crashing, or getting stuck on things, or even the game being too difficult. i experienced no problems. while i only played on normal, it presented a challenging but fair campaign. i had enough money to play around a bit, with the only exception being the start of the game. rng could make or break close battles, but generally it wasnt incredibly impactful. all in all, a good game with unwarranted low reviews.

I'm about 30 hours in and I don't have much to say about KB2. It's not bad. Not buggy. It has decencent progression. I found leveling up my army to be a semi rewarding experience. But once I set KB2 down, I never felt the desire to come back to it. My take away from KB2, is that it is a fully functional ok experience. Worth it's price on sale.
