Kong: Survivor Instinct

I wasn't going to get this game because it got low critic scores, but it's a good game for the price. The 2.5 D nature with Kong lurking in the background feels like being in a diorama. It does make you feel small and the atmosphere is very good. The combat is not as bad as people say. It's mostly just blocking then countering, but fine. Very solid experience for $25.

3.5 Titans... Ending area was dumb and out of your control, couldnt explore. Game just ends . Was thinking it would go to a new city and have you follow the main baddie and showcase more Titans. Shouldve been a $10 price. Hope more is added...

Really wanted to like it but the combat is pathetic. Cool environment design and titans look great too.

The average battle goes like this; 2 guys on one side and a third on the other. One guy has a shield and the guy behind him has a shotgun or rifle. The guy on your other side has a knife. You can't break the shield because he goes into defense stand so the guy behind him can shoot you which breaks your attempt to break the first guy's shield. Meanwhile the guy on your other side is attacking you with a knife. You will either have no ammo or barely enough to slow down one guy (playing on easy). The hand to hand combat is a joke. It is filled with forced counters and cheap shots. Additionally, there isn't nearly enough ammo and I am playing on easy (where it should be plentiful). It's too bad because the rest of the game is great. It's Shadow Complex mixed with the Monsterverse (Kong etc.) which has a huge winning potiental in my opinion.

At least it's better than that Rise Of Kong game.
