Let me preface this by saying that my opinion on this game is biased, as I relate personally to some of the contents of the story and already enjoy playing similar games. With that out of the way, I gotta say I love KOBA's addition to the future-retro 80's metroidvania style subgenre. It has a lot to offer if you enjoy cyberpunk or retro visuals, and its OST is nostalgic but fresh, hosting a wide range of tracks that fully fit their placement within the game. The game's controls are easy to learn, but difficult to master. If you ever forget any, you can pause>settings>controls or pause>power-ups to view them(some include tutorials). The game has plenty combat but there is also enough story to fill a small visual novel, but you can skip most dialogue boxes. If Ihad to voice one grievance, it would be that this game isn't translated into other languages, and that it includes a TON of coding references. I code sometimes so I understand them, but some might be turned off by them. Worth!!!!

This dialog heavy game slows down the pace of journey until you realize that the story is the focus. Although it's completely inspired by Tron's plot, I feel they pulled off a better version while realizing this wouldn't exist without the film. The locations and character design are fantastic; I found myself stopping often to take in the retro art, music, and animations. Gameplay and enemies took some getting used to, but nothing that took me out of it. My one gripe: needed a New Game+ mode. Looking forward to the sequel!! 😃👍🀄

A mostly strightforward platformer with increasingly complex combat. Never gets too challenging, so it's approachable but could benefit from some optional challenges. Not really a metroidvania, though the world is continuous. The writing is esoteric, earnest, and sticks the landing. Easy recommend, especially on sale. Left me wanting more, and after upcoming arcade spinoff Haneda Girl is released, devs say they plan to do a sequel. It makes me think of Sword and Sworcery EP from Capybara Games, very stylish.
