Pure Chess Grandmaster Edition

The main thing this game tries to emphasize is graphics. Let me tell you right now, they're ok. Nothing spectacular, but not bad either. There are very limited options for customizing boards, pices, and venues. You'll most likely stick with the Staunton, which is actually quite a pleasing set. The online play is smooth, and you can have multiple games going at once. The A.I. can accomodate any player, wether you're fresh to the game or a GM. The biggest fault this game has in my opinion, is there isn't a suitable game viewer. If you finish a great game and would like to go through it at your own pace, you can't. You can only watch the game sped up to where each move is played right after the previous. There is no pause or speed control either.

This chess game is amazing to look at. The pieces, board and environment all leap off the screen with astounding detail. Challenges and tutorials will help immerse new players, as well as the stunning visuals, soothing soundtrack and reasonable price. More experienced players, such as myself may be turned off by casual multiplayer rules, which without clocks rewards players who simply wait out opponents. With only 6 multiplayer slots on which to begin a new game, I am constantly tempted to resign previous games, not for lack of skill but because my opponent simply stopped playing. With half my slots being used for these limbo games, and more ppl figuring out that they can win this way I will eventually need to resign those games as my only way to get rid of them and begin new ones. Bad enough i have tip my king to someone I steamrolled the other day but I am sure that over time this will reflect poorly on my rating. Great for a casual game with friends, but not exactly ChessM.

I have waited years for this. It would be 5+ stars if the servers would not keep having errors. Only one board is playable and the clear pieces are too clear, even on a 4K TV. After spending an hour plus in a PvP match the other player can quit because they are losing and jump in another match. They should be timed out. I hope they fix the few things that are wrong because the concept is great.

Nice board/piece styles. Tutorial included for those just begining. Only hang up I have are players who leave game without resigning or forefitting the game. Should include some way to clear them without damaging your own record. Looking forward to future updates.

its a chess game with great graphics, the ai has great variety, the grandmaster ai is no grandmaster at chess though. my only wishes for the game is a free-roaming curser and more people to play with. im using it as a practice dummy to enhance my skills and iiam glad i bought it.
