Tale of Dark Lands (Xbox Series X|S)

I have about an hour of game play so far and currently able to work on the 3rd quest of the game. Its not open world or to big on exploring from what I've played and is just kinda linear gameplay the maybe takes 6-8 hours to beat with some exploration that leads to the same place. Each quest is a new area you teleport too at a crystal, you get to the end of said area completing said quest and teleport back to the Village you start, theres no outward paths to leave said Village area I walked around a little. The UI is a bit wonky especially when trying to exit out of a menu like a shop menu. Theres no Deadzone control so expect stick drift. The controls themselves aren't too bad just a little weird plus you have to figure them all out yourself which is ok. Overall not to bad given the price but definitely seemed like it should of been more, although I personally love the look of the game.

Nice little game for the price. Reminiscent of adventure games on the 360.

You get what you pay for. It's a fun, quick little RPG that has melee, ranged and a couple skills you can use in combat. There is better gear acquired through a trader, end of mission reward or by crafting. Missions are simple, first few areas are a breeze, but by the last couple of areas, ranged enemies hit HARD. Took me a few hours to beat, only missable achievement is Fashionist. And Rich achievement is 5k gold at one time, not hard.

Weanie whiners cant play these kinds of games mahaaaaa!!!!

It's not trying to be the next big RPG, and that's evident by the size, it's a callback to a much simplier hack n' slash of the OG 360 era, you get either: Swords, daggers, or bows as a primary weapon and a shield if needed. The story is at most 4hrs straight, and is great for achievement hunting; I look forward to greater depth in the future from this studio; honestly would be better at 8$, if it's on sale get it!
