Yars Rising

This game is good people who played atari back then is easy

Reimagining Yar's Revenge as an explorative action game ends up being a cool idea. Stree-free challenge, the gameplay is responsive, the characters are fun (Emi's sassy banter is a delight), and the music is infectious. Blending decent sidescolling run-gunning with the original Yars game serving as a conduit for solving puzzles is a nice touch to blend the classic with the modern.

A take on both the Yars franchise, and Metroidvanias in general. The game mixes some fun run & gun platforming with Yars' Revenge inspired hacking minigames, and a few serviceable if not particularly deep stealth sections. The story doesn't take itself too seriously, but the jokes are funny, and the main character, Emi, is great. While not as good as River City Girls, the soundtrack is very catchy. If you like the writing in RCG, though, you'll probably like it here. There's one annoying segment right at the end, but otherwise, easy 5 stars.

Be better without all the annoying jokes and "How do you do, fellow kids?" I’ve been enjoying the gameplay though, I like the way MC looks and incredible soundtrack.

It makes an honest effort to be different with kwirky characters, story, & dialog. It isn't overly difficult and progress is quick and keeps the game interesting.
