Spiritual Successor to FFT
Lots of reviews refer to Final Fantasy Tactics for good reason. Other than the similarities, it is that this was a truly amazing that had no real follow up for 35 years. FFT came out shortly after FF7. While the latter is obviously an incredible game, it was FFT that stole my heart, and to this day remains my favorite Final Fantasy game.
Anyway, this isn't just a simple knock off. The devs put some real thought on the gameplay, which I can genuinely say that some of it is an improvement over FFT, especially how Magic Points are handled. For an indie game they really did the best they could. Music is wonderful and while clearly budgeted, effects still had care put into it. I really liked the story and the 2 possible endings. Thoughtful dialogue made me care what happened even if it won't win a pulitzer.
The DLC is amaIng as it allows the various monsters to stand toe to toe. A well-crafted experience.

Almost fft but with less realism
Great tactics game. Decent amount of classes. No major bugs. Very forgiving gameplay. Unlike fft you can move, line up your attack, and as long as you dont attack, you can cancel it all the way back to the begining of the turn. Fft the move is final. Your ranged characters can shoot past allies and most obsticals, which takes away some of the challenge. Great tactics game for people new to strategy and tactics games. Its no Ogre Tactics or fft in the amount of diverse skills and classes and the cheesy uber-good vs evil that is more at home in a childrens novel are the only real reason i gave it a 4

Super fun
Character building and class progression is amazing. Good story telling. My only gripe is not being able to customize the main characters. I never used them unless I had to and just let them die in battle.

The Tactics Game to Play on Xbox
Spiritually this game is final fantasy tactics. It excels at the sheer number of classes you can develop on your team, including quite a few unique classes. The combat is genuinely challenging on veteran (normal) and the enemy attacks are varied enough that you will find yourself having to switch strategies often. As far as downsides the main character is chosen for you so if you were hoping to roleplay as Ivan, Geralt, or Yourself you'll be stuck with a law abiding soccer mom. This rigidity in roleplay is also seen in the dialogue where there are no branching options to be a gray or even black arbiter even though numerous circumstances where that would be a fun option are present. The music is on par with the onscreen action. In conclusion the gameplay is fun enough that youll forget youre roleplaying as a soccer mom with a justiceboner in another 'muh crystals' story.
