Fantasy General II: Invasion

An excellent addition to the turn based strategy games available. Slitherine has long been one of the best development shops for this type of game, and I am happy to report this entry does not disappoint. Patience and investment of brainpower required, so absolutely not for whiny teens. If you have an adult mind, and you're looking for the kind of wargame you can usually only find on PC, this is right in the zone. I only take 1 star off due to lack of in-game reference materials / manuals, as there are many stats and icons to figure out as you go. Great fun however 👍

If you take the time to learn the mechanics you will be rewarded. Agree that it can be tedious but there's a meaty game here. Closest thing to RTS without being RTS, no need for stressful or twitchy reflexes, just relax and plan it out. No shame playing on easy either. Will likely get DLC at some point, highly recommend.

if lord of the rings, game of thrones, vikings, and skyrim had a turn based baby this would be it.... I'm enjoying the story, I'm invested in the characters and I like they way the game gives individual personalities to the units. runs smooth and the controls are intuitive.. there are choices to be made and consequences to be felt.. example, one of my spear units had wounded soldiers and were losing a battle so I retreated to a cave and hid there, rested for a turn to heal the wounded and by chance an enemy unit passed by the cave trying to flank one of my other units and BAM! my full health spearmaidens ambushed them and turned the tide of the war! good times!

it's great an i really liked how invested i got once i recruited the lizards just wish you could have a friend help you .😋

This is a PC game released last year converted nicely for console/gamepad play. It's based on a PC series in the 90's called Panzer General, which was a turned based WW2 series. Then they did Fantasy General on PC. And now FG2. It's been a beloved series. Glad to see it come to console. The question usually how does it convert? How does the font and scaling look? And how does it play with a gamepad? Glad to report they did well in all three. It's a great game without being overly deep or hard. Controls are simple. It's fun nd tactical enough if you like the game type. It's. Not a AAA game, and priced accordingly. It's got 2 campaigns, a flowing battles mode and scrimmage with AI only. The negatives... Gets overly crowded on screen with too many units. Hard to find a unit you need sometimes, and no MP.
