Star Hammer: The Vanguard Prophecy

If you know what you're getting, this game is solid. If you come from a pc rts background, among others, you can easily appreciate this game. If you think that strategy apps on phones and tabs are the tops in strategy gaming, then you have 20 years of strategy gaming schooling to do. Game is not massive like a Total War game, but is certainly not a $5 mobile-app type game. After learning how the game works, it is apparent that most problems and defeats will be the player's fault. Everything works very well if the required amount of attention is paid to the game mechanics and the player has enough patience to manage a mutlitude of actions for every ship under their command. No you don't get 50 ships. I was excited every time I expanded to 5 or 6 ships. It changes the game to throw another capital ship in there. You control positioning in three dimensions; power distribution to shields, weapons, engines; shield's power dist. to different areas of ship; firing weapons... Give it a chance.

The game is excelant at being one of those commander simulation games compared to Assassin's Creed: Pirates, or Halo wars. It let's the player think how to lead flotilas to fleets and to squadrons of ships on the battlefield. It's best game mode is Skirmish, where the true sim begins that let you experiment, But there are some exceptions to the game; the only enemy you can fight are aliens and the limited space to how much ships you can put in your fleet is too low. I also wish they can let you personally custumize each ship or at least remane them before starting Skirmish. There's too much limits too a game that deserves more. It makes up for this by having entertaining battles but it's still slow paced. A game as slow pace as this would'nt have online play, but local multiplayer should've been just as fine. Tne entire game is single player. I hope they'll release new updates.

Love the concept great overall idea! Only problem for me wish i could build a bigger fleet.

great game, but it freezes up on my campaign over 3 hours wasted, other than that i love its turn base, selection of ships, good graphics, i've only had it for a week, but the freezing is really ruining it for me.....

limited ship options, needs better control scheme, love turn base and idea, starbases would be fun more outline territories.
